The Art Of . . . Series
The Art of . . . Series seeks to introduce artists to the reader a lavish amount of the artist's work woven through several essays on the theological, art historical, and aesthetic merits of that work. The first three books in this series are The Art of Sandra Bowden, The Art of Guy Chase, and The Art of Edward Knippers: Prints and Drawings.
Sandra Bowden is one such artist whose entire artistic oeuvre refers, directly or indirectly, to manuscripts, and she approaches her art as a practicing Christian. Her work, however, is not based on easy nostalgia or sentiment. Bowden reveals her keen understanding of the major artists of the twentieth century and she hearkens back to the work of Byzantine, medieval, and Renaissance artists.”

"Bridging differences Guy Chase's art is full of surprises, twists, humour, candor, inventiveness and delight; Chase takes the postmodern visual language to its ends of hubris and significance; always turning our assumptions upside down. This marvelous collections of his work and essays by friends/scholars creates a humble dialogue that lays a track for generations of future artists who wrestle with art and faith."
Across the many years that I have known Edward Knippers, I have come to expect two things: passion and faithfulness. Ed is passionate about the biblical narrative—especially the human stories that it contains—and faithful to do the work. Few artists have been as
productive in the studio and over a long span of years as Ed Knippers. His expansive body of work needs to be seen.
